CMCSSSD Summer Resource Fair 2025
County Special Services Summer Resource Fair offers opportunity for connection and conversation with local organizations.
Cape May Court House – Towns in the southern part of the state are already planning for summer, and that includes what’s available for children when school is out! Cape May County Special Services School District (CMCSSSD) recently hosted a Summer Resource Fair to connect families of students with special needs with local resources. The fair was held at the school, with familiar staff members and activities for children, allowing parents to attend without worrying about securing childcare.
Opportunities like the Resource Fair are important for helping families learn about the organizations, programs, and support services available to them locally. By meeting representatives from these local groups firsthand, families can gather materials and find the entities that would be most beneficial for their child. Featured participants represented a variety of interests and services, including Cape Assist,21 Down, Faces 4 Autism, Challenger Sports, NJ4S, and more.
“Our district understands that the needs of students and their families extend beyond the classroom,” said Jamie Moscony, Superintendent of Cape May County Special Services School District. “The participating organizations also understand the importance of connecting with families, educators, and caregivers for CMCSSSD students to create a network of support around those who need it most.”
Resource Fairs are just one of the ways that CMCSSSD fosters an inclusive community that connects children with special needs and their families with the community where they work and live. Other efforts include community partnerships for in-house and on-site employment opportunities, community-based instruction trips to local establishments, informational assemblies and visits from local law enforcement personnel, Outdoor Experiential Education, Special Olympics Unified Sports, and much more.
Cape May County Special Services School District serves students with special needs, ages 3 through 21. With two schools, Ocean Academy and Cape May County High School, the district educates and empowers students with special needs to reach their highest potential through a variety of programs and services.
