Speech Therapy

Cape May County Schools for Special Services Speech and Language Department is committed to developing, improving, and/or facilitating functional communication capabilities for each student. 

A total communication approach (verbal, sign language, pictures, and voice output devices) are implemented as appropriate to provide optimal opportunities of communication. 

Services are provided for students who qualify between the ages of 3 and 21, who have speech and language impairments that adversely affect educational performance. These services are provided directly, indirectly, and/or in a consultative manner. 

Areas of need targeted by the Speech and Language Department include:

  • Articulation
  • Voice
  • Fluency
  • Language
  • Hearing Loss
  • Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC)
  • Dysphagia (Difficulty swallowing)
