About ESY

The ESY program offered at Cape May County Special Services (CMCSSSD) is specifically designed to maintain the high level of academic, social/behavioral, communication, and other pre-vocational skills that a student has learned as part of his/her Individualized Education Program.  Unlike previous years, an increased emphasis will be on social skills and a re-acclimation to our physical school environment. The  academic portion of our program will focus on language arts, mathematics, science, and social skills instruction. An extension of related services, as stipulated in the student’s IEP, will also be provided.  Students in the autism program will continue to follow their individually designed programs incorporating specialized strategies supported by our BCBA.  Progress reports will be shared with parents at the end of the program.

This year’s ESY Program will begin on Monday, July 1, 2024, and end on Thursday, August 1, 2024, and consists of five (5) weeks, Monday-Thursday with the hours of operation from 9 am to 2:15 pm. Schools will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, for observance of Independence Day.

To enroll a current student who attends Ocean Academy or CMC High School, you will need to complete the ESY Enrollment Application 2024.  To enroll a student who attends school in another school district, you will need to complete the ESY Enrollment Application 2024, New Student ESY Admissions Application 2024, and New Student ESY Admissions Checklist 2024.

Please contact Roe Smith for all forms needed.  All forms to enroll students into the 2024 ESY program must be sent to Jonathan Price, Director of Related Services, at CMCSSSD, 4 Moore Road, DN-704, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
