Superintendent's Message
WELCOME TO THE 2024 - 2025 SCHOOL YEAR!
Welcome to the Cape May County Special Services School District (CMCSSSD). As your Superintendent, it is a tremendous honor to serve our school community and welcome our new and returning students to the 2024-2025 school year! It is also my honor to introduce you to our new Assistant Superintendent, Ms.Carleena Supp. Ms. Supp is a strong advocate for students and families and will be a true asset to our school community!
As you know, CMCSSSD is committed to providing exceptional programming to meet the needs of our students with special needs. Our innovative curriculum, highly trained staff, targeted individualized supports, and assistive technology, help us to provide for the very unique social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and prevocational needs of our student population. This year, we are very excited to report that we were awarded a grant from the New Jersey Department of Education that will help us to expand our Community-Based Instruction programming and specialized transition services for students ages 18-21 and their families. To learn more about this program, please reach out to your child’s case manager.
I encourage all parents and guardians to stay actively involved in your child’s education at CMCSSSD and to take advantage of the various supports and services available to you. Our faculty, related services staff, and case managers are here to help!
On behalf of the Board of Education, our Administrative Team, and all CMCSSSD Faculty, we look forward to working with you as we plan for an exceptional 2024-2025 school year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It is my pleasure to welcome our students, staff, and families back for the 2024-2025 school year! As Assistant Superintendent of Cape May County Special Services School District (CMCSSSD), I am excited to be here with all of you for the new school year and beyond.
At CMCSSSD, we join compassion and excellence in education together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the students we serve. We strive to educate the whole child through educational experiences that allow our special needs students to reach their highest potential and develop into productive members of the community. We know this looks different for every child. By creating a unique, individualized, positive, supportive, caring, and safe learning environment for each student, our students are able to grow and flourish.
Our families are an integral part of our school community and in providing this individualized experience to our students. I encourage you to get involved in our Special Education Parents’ Advisory Group (SEPAG) or the CMCSSSD Education Foundation to provide input and support various initiatives and programs for the district. Back to School Night will take place on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. This is a great opportunity to meet the staff and learn more about our school and programs.
Our staff, administrative team, and I are always here to assist you. Should you have any questions or concerns about your individual student’s program, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of us. I look forward to working together to make the 2024-2025 school year a memorable and successful one!
